{{In the  “Fulcrum Trap” preview, did anyone else notice ‘Killik Twilight’ is in Thrawn’s office?}}

holy shit

Perceptive…

A fanfic was written it is a WIP.

The two boys run up and down the purple grassy knoll hills until their comlinks chirp. They stare at each other and nod to return to the caves. They find their parents speaking to a large tripartite insect in regal attire. Raw races to hug the thoracic tail of the insect, a member of the Killik species, who playfully swings around Raw as he squeals holding on for dear life. He squeaks about. “Come brother, ride it, too! She can hold us both.”

Ras shakes his head as he angles to his mother, a beautiful Cerulean skinned woman with a short blue-black hair with small braided purple silk sections on the sides, and a head band that pulls the strays back. Raw’s and Ras’s father, a strong dark Cerulean skin and a strong jaw lifts Raw off the tail as his red-in-red eyes glisten to coddle Raw. “Now, Mitth’raw, you know better. Amt is only here to harvest the purple pollen for her hive, and then she and the Killiks leave. She can’t play with you all day.”

Ok, so no one cares about the EU anymore (apparently it’s not cool enough…), but the Killik Twilight is a moss painting, by an Alderaanian artist. I don’t remember how it got into Thrawn’s hands, but supposedly on 19ABY it’s is given to Leia by, then, Grand Admiral Pellaeon! Before landing in the Chiss’ possession, it was part of the Organa family collection.
And the killiks were originally from Alderaan, called Oroboro at the time.

I care about the EU and have gotten grief from both pro-and anti- EU fans.

How this works out is production is changing it for the episode. Since I don’t know how exactly the episode will be or the explanation for that image, then I can’t tell you why they decided to use it. Perhaps the art confounds him. Perhaps it was taken or stolen? Who knows? Perhaps it’s a fancy smancy print he has?

But watch the show and the Rebels Recon to see if they say anything about it. If you don’t watch the show, I can’t tell you anymore than I already have. @ellyah

P.S. I’ve gotten all kinds of shit grief by both sides and it hasn’t changed my fandom yet.

@ellyah Lucasfilm retconned the story of the Moss Painting. It’s in the Rebels Recon https://youtu.be/r4Svy7GluwA

For production, Ralph McQuarrie created the images before filming stated. This concept image was as every fan knows and understands as a moss painting from Alderaan. But it’s not in movies, and the movies rank over TV and books.

So Filoni took it and placed it as a moss painting from Lothal. Never says how I got it. There are rumors that I am pilfering art. Okay. No. More like salvaging and curating it from species who hate art.
