You cannot speculate that way without some semblance of the canon Star Wars story formatting. Never did the character do that and there would need to be more elements added to the story for it to make sense in a 15 minute show with 12-20 other leads much more important, such as Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa and Han Solo.
I am the villain, now. But I have to defer to Darth Vader when he presents himself in Star Wars Rebels.
It’s a mary sue to make me connect with Rogue One heroes. If the LFSG think I should have discussions with Rogue One, I will overpower them. Making it a godmodded story. For silly animation that might be good. But for this type of storytelling, you have several writers who have worked at Lucasfilm for since The Clone Wars and before, and they do understand how to tell succinct stories.
Which my group has been doing for over 8 years, too. What Henry Gilroy said is necessary. Because they will not add anymore EU to media at this time, does not mean they never will. You have to be patient.
