SWAG77 Marketing of Grand Admiral Thrawn for a Movie – read first
This blog post is OUT OF CHARACTER AND IS A REPORT. ALL THAT IS WRITTEN IS FROM THE ADMINS PERSPECTIVE.
Books are great and up until Star Wars Rebels about Grand Admiral Thrawn, we thought that watching Thrawn in motion could be the driver and justification of a future movie. It was about GETTING THRAWN BACK INTO CANON AND IN A MOTION PICTURE was our goal in 2015.
How do you get a rather tall blue man into a movie when after 24 years and the creation of Legends books where casual fans of Star Wars have no clue who Thrawn is in 2015? That information is what more seasoned fans of Star Wars cast off to a book that is rarely sold at top bookstores and can be difficult to obtain from a library for a new-to-Star Wars fan. If we were Star Wars fan gatekeepers, then making it tough to rally support from the bulk of Star Wars fans who desire nuanced satisfaction in a movie that depicts Thrawn in an accurate manner.
But, resistance is futile to think Star Wars fans would step up to the plate for a GOOD IDEA while we have the ear of Lucasfilm Star Wars.
