What you must understand is Grand Admiral Thrawn is cruel and mean in a very non-haughty way. He beats them strategically because he’s smart. The reason why some fans will hate him is because they don’t respect opponents who are also smart. Thrawn in essence is an EVIL Mr. Spock and much more violent.
